At the District PE Lead Meeting held at Mill Green Golf Club, St. Philip Howard received their School Games Mark Certificate, Gold Level, for the second year.

Friday, 26th September 2025 -
Well done to Years 5 and 6 boys and girls who competed in the Cross Country Qualifier hosted by Onslow St. Audrey's School last Friday afternoon. Fifteen children from St. Philip Howard have now qualified to take part in the District Finals at Stanborough Lakes on Thursday, 9th October.

Friday, 3rd October 2025 - Whole School Assembly
This morning, we celebrated the success of our Year 5 and 6 children who had competed in the Cross Country Qualifier at Onslow St. Audrey's School on Friday 26th September. These children will now represent the school at the District Cross Country Finals at Stanborough Lakes on Thursday, 9th October.

Well done to all of the children in Years 5 and 6 who took part in this Cross Country Event. Huge congratulations to Noah who finished third in the Year 6 race. He will now progress through to the County Cross Country Event in January 2026.


Friday, 17th October 2025 - Year 5/6 Basketball Qualifier at Onslow St. Audrey's School
A huge well done for our group of 10 children from Year 5 who participated in the Basketball Qualifier, held at Onslow St. Audrey's School. They demonstrated great team work and achieved a well earned third place in this event. This was good experience for our Year 5 children, developing their knowledge and skills in this particular sport and identifying the areas for improvement going forward at future events.

Thursday, 6th November 2025 - Pre-Season Girls' Football Festival
Well done to the Girls' Football Team who were runners up at the Pre-Season Football Festival held at De Havilland School. In the Group stage, they had three wins and one draw. Demonstrating excellent team play, the girls made it through to the Final.

Week ending Friday, 14th November 2025 - Boys' League Football
The boys football team played two exciting games this week. The first was a narrow 4–3 defeat to Hatfield Community Free School, and the second was an excellent 4–1 win against De Havilland. We were extremely proud of the team’s positivity and fantastic teamwork throughout both matches.
Thursday, 20th November 2025 - Girls' Football News!

It may have been a cold evening, but the excitement for the new season was clear as our girls’ football team took to the pitch for their first match. Up against Hatfield Community Free School, they demonstrated fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Their efforts were rewarded with a superb 3–0 win. A wonderful start to the season – well done, girls!
Friday, 21st November 2025 - Futsal Festival at Onslow St. Audrey's School
This group of Year 4 and 5 boys and girls were given the experience to try a different sport, Futsal, organised by Onslow St. Audrey's School. They competed against four other local schools from Hatfield. The girls played the first half of each match and the boys played the second half. Their scores were combined together. Our team achieved a well deserved 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, scoring 8 goals in total!! The children were a credit to our school.
Netball News

On Monday, 24th November, after school, our Year 5&6 Girls Netball Team headed off to Stanborough School to compete in a Netball Fixture Evening. This was the first such event for this academic year. The team competed against five other teams from local Hatfield and Welwyn schools and, despite this being the first competitive event for this newly formed team, they managed two wins and scored 8 goals. Great teamwork girls and well done for showing such positivity and determination. Further fixture evenings will be taking place in January and February with a tournament planned at the end of the season.
