Music
Music is an important part of the curriculum, giving every child the opportunity to develop their creativity, confidence and appreciations of music. Following the National Curriculum for music, pupils learn to sing and perform, play and explore musical instruments, compose and improvise, and listen to and evaluate a range of music. We use Kapow Music to provide a rich and engaging music education for all pupils.
Through practical and engaging lessons, children develop their music knowledge and skills, whilst discovering music from different cultures, traditions and periods.
All children get the opportunity to learn ukulele in Year 4.
Children Year 3-6 have the chance to be in St Philip Howard Catholic School Choir, where they help Mrs Asamoah lead Hymn Practice each week. They also sing at special events at our local parishes and entertain residents at local care and residential homes. They also have opportunities to perform and sing at other venues within our community across the year.
Children in Years 1-6 have been given the opportunity to enrol onto guitar lessons.
