Inspection Reports
I am delighted to share with you the Ofsted report from our inspection in June 2024. This was a Section 5 (short, ungraded) inspection so the inspector was looking to see if we, as a school, were still good. I am pleased to announce that we still are.
I am immensely proud of our school and the report reflects all that is wonderful about our school community. Please rest assured that the hard work does not stop, we are and will continue to strive for excellence for all our children and families. The next step that is recommended is an area that the school is already working on. We have already been making changes to our curriculum and look forward to sharing them with you in September.
This report is a testament to the incredible hard work of all that are involved in our school - pupils, parents, governors and our staff. It reflects the dedication from all to do what is best for our children.
“The school is ambitious for what all pupils can achieve. Pupils grow in resilience and confidence with the care and nurturing support that staff provide. Staff help pupils to learn from their mistakes and develop a ‘can-do’ attitude.”
I am so pleased that Ofsted were able to recognise that as a Catholic school we believe in educating the whole child. Our pupils’ happiness and love for their school shines through the report along with the progress they make and their achievements. We are truly developing children who will change communities for the better.
“Pupils are very polite and courteous. They have exceptional attitudes towards their learning and behaviour… At all times, throughout the school day, pupils’ behaviour is excellent. There is a strong emphasis on pupils becoming respectful and responsible young people.”
It is a privilege to be the headteacher of such a wonderful and special school where,
“Everyone is welcomed at this warm and caring school. Pupils come from a diverse range of backgrounds and enjoy attending school. They celebrate each other’s differences. Pupils value being at a school where the shared Catholic values unite everyone and lead to a strong sense of community.”
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for all of your support and to know that in partnership, we will continue to make our school such a special place for our pupils.
Yours sincerely
Mairead

We are delighted to attach our Inspection Report from the Diocese. We are very pleased that they clearly recognised that we are a school community with Christ at its centre.
Our pupils are fabulous and this was reflected on the day, in lessons, around the school, when they spoke to the inspectors and our Chaplaincy Team when they led our Remembrance assembly.
All staff across the school work very hard, on a daily basis and it is extremely rewarding when this commitment to our school family is recognised. The report accurately reflects the partnership between parents, parish and school that strives to achieve what is best for our children.
Thank you to the parent who summed up our school so well when they said, “in this school we see the Kingdom of God in practice.”
It is a privilege helping to lead our school and I am delighted and proud that the inspection report reflects what a truly special school St Philip Howard Catholic Primary is.
Every report has targets that we need to work towards to continue to improve. We will continue to act on the advice given and continue to strive for excellence in all areas of our school life.
Please take the time to read the reports
Thank you
