Only one you
This week we read the story Only one you. We spoke about how each of us is special and unique. We had some older children come to visit and the children had a challenge of finding a new friend. They also had the opportunity to bring in something special to them to show their friends. In their play they got to collage a fish and listen to mindfulness on the carpet.
Outside the children went on a scavenger hunt with a list or items to find, they found lots of treasures and we collected them in a tub.
In maths we looked at the number 2, what it looks like, how to write it and how to count it. There were lots of opportunities to practise these skills in the environment.
