Week 9 Our class is a family

This week we looked at our different types of families. We have a home family, a church family and a school family. We talked about all the different things we do as class, caring and looking after one another. The children had a go at drawing their friends that they enjoy playing with as well as decorating a leaf to make a class family tree. 

As it was bonfire night on the Tuesday we watched some firework videos to see the colours and hear the noises they make. The children danced with scarves in shapes that the fireworks make and created firework pictures using paint and tubes. Sparklers are a great part of firework night so the children made edible sparklers, using breadsticks, and chocolate and sprinkles. They were very yummy.

In maths we looked at simple patterns, what might come next in a sequence and what patterns we can see around us. 

We had a chance to visit the trim trail in the afternoon and the children practised some of their climbing skills.
