Week 9

Diwali: To know that there are other religions in the world.

This week we looked at the festival of Diwali, we spoke about it being a festival of light and that there are other religions in the World that celebrate this festival. We thought about some of the things we celebrate as part of being a Catholic.

The children got to experience making a Diya lamp using clay and then painting it in bright colours. They also got to have mehndi patterns drawn on their hands and taste a food often made at Diwali - onion bhajis.
