Remember, remember the fifth of November
This week we read the story Remember, remember the fifth of November. We looked at what a bonfire is and fireworks as well as how we can be safe around them. In the story there was a hedgehog so we spoke about how some animals like hedgehogs hibernate (Big sleep) in the winter. The children explored different colours using powder paint, made fireworks to throw around and created firework pictures. In PE the children pretended to be fireworks, moving around the hall to firework sounds using scarves for colour. We made sparkler breadsticks, using chocolate and sprinkles for the ends.
In maths, they looked at pattern, talking about what patterns they can see around the room and in the outdoors. They then had the opportunity to make patterns in the classroom using paint and different resources.
