The girl and the dinosaur

This week we looked at the story The girl and the dinosaur. We talked about how dinosaurs are extinct and that the world has changed since they were alive. We wondered how we know what dinosaurs looked like and what they might have eaten. the children cut and stick dinosaur bones back together and became archaeologists whilst digging for bones and fossils in the sand.

In maths we looked again at numbers 1-4, recognising them, putting them in order, counting them and representing them. The children counted different objects, and finger painted an amount on paper.

In phonics we looked at rhyming words, listening for the ones that sounded similar at the end. The children looked at pictures and chose the ones that rhymed.

We had a bit of excitement with the weather when we had a sprinkling of snow. The children loved being outside and touching and playing in the snow.
