The little Raindrop

This week we read The little Raindrop, we looked at where rain comes from and where it goes when it falls from the sky. We also thought about how rainbows appear in the sky. The children watched the skittle experiment, the colours running from the skittles to make a rainbow and how they didn't mix. they even got to try a few skittles!  The children made raincloud pictures and experimented with colour mixing.

In Forest school, we went on a bug hunt. We managed to find millipedes, woodlouse, snails and worms. We saw some spider webs but no spiders. The children did very well at looking under logs, leaves and plants.

In maths we looked at sequencing events, we thought about our morning and bedtime routines, what we do first, next then last. The children spoke about their own routines and the different order they do things in.

As it was science week the children also looked at camouflage, matching the animals to their print and seeing how they blend in.
