Week 4 Foggy foggy forest
This week we read Foggy foggy forest. The children looked at the shadows in the book and made predictions about what it could be, to give them a clue they had the first rhyming word. After the story the children explored creating shadows using torches, they could use their hands or cut out a picture to create the shadow. We also looked at out reflections in mirrors and spoke about what other surfaces allow us to see ourselves in.
In maths we looked at 3d shapes, noticing some of their similarities to d shapes and seeing if we can create out own 3d shapes from toys in the environment.
in phonics, the children looked at letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make. They got to explore the shapes of the letters hands on.
