Baby goes to market
This week we read the story of Baby goes to market. We looked at the differences and similarities from the story to where we do our shopping here. We talked about how babies were carried in the story and how we might carry a baby here: pushchair, carrier. We also compared how Mama carried her shopping around on her head but here we have baskets, trolleys and bags. The children got to have a go at carrying a baby on their back and tried some chin chin biscuits like in the story.
In maths we explored what comes after/next. We counted to 10 and found the missing numbers by identifying the exposed number and finding what comes next. The children then made their own number lines.
In forest school some of the children did bark rubbings, using a crayon and some paper and rubbing it on the bark on the trees. The other children used nature to do painting, suing a selection of sticks, leaves and stones to paint.
