Rainbow - Week 9 - We're Going on a Bear Hunt
Our topic book continues to be We're going on a Bear Hunt, it will also be our focus for Drawing Club this week. The children are beginning to use more than one word or a very short caption as their code for Drawing Club and it is very exciting to see their progress.
Our sounds in phonics this week will be r and h and we will continue to learn the tricky words go, no and the.
In the forest we will be building animal homes and our PE lessons are dance for this half term.
In maths we will continue to think about parts and wholes and we will start to compose and decompose small numbers.
In Religious Education we will be beginning to think about the incredible story of Jesus birth. This week we will be focusing on Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Week 9- We're Going on a Bear Hunt
How it went
We’ve been very productive in reception this week. On Monday, it was lovely to see so many children wearing their odd socks to mark Anti-Bullying Week and to help us think about what makes us all unique.
In EAD, the children drew their houses and talked about what their homes are like. I was surprised to see how many of our class live in rainbow coloured houses!
The children have continued to make brilliant progress in Drawing Club, with many now beginning to write short captions such as “it is him” and “the hen.”
In PE, they explored different ways of moving and dancing in response to a variety of music. They also had the opportunity to watch their Year 5 buddies’ class assembly, which they really enjoyed.
Thank you to all the adults who attended our Stay and Build session. The children loved working with you to create different types of houses, and it was good to see so many parents and carers able to join us.
