Rainbow - Week 4 - The Library

This weeks topic has been all about the Library. On Tuesday we had a visit to Hatfield Library. The Librarians told us so much about what librarians do and what a library is. The children enjoyed hearing stories, singing songs, and exploring the library, looking at all the different books. The children were very excited to go to the library with their grown ups in the future. Remember the library is free! They also do a Story Time every Saturday 11:15am-11:45am, which everyone is welcome to go.

Some children bought in their favourite books this week, and shared what happens in their story and what they love so much about it. We have been reading them over the week.

Our Drawing Club book has been 'The Hairy Toe', the children really enjoyed this story. I am now encouraging the children to write simple phrases (2-3 words) rather than just words.

In Maths we have been thinking of the composition of 5. We have been using the song '5 little speckled frogs' to help us understand the different ways we can make 5.

In RE, we have been learning about Jesus welcoming the little children. We have been thinking how we can make others feel welcome.

In PE, we have been pracisting our jumps, remembering to always bend our knees before and after we jump.
