Rainbow - Week 7 - The Supermarket

Our topic this half term is Ready Steady Grow. We will be thinking about how food is grown and how it gets to our supermarkets. The children will be watching out for signs of Spring and New life. We will try and grow some things ourselves too.

This week all the children will get a chance to go to Asda in Hatfield in a small group. They will have some questions to answer as they walk around the store. The children will be asked to buy some snacks for the class and will have some cash to pay at the till.

Our topic book is I Went To The Supermarket, a fun book where the children have to try and remember all the things that have previously been bought. We will talk about where we go to get our shopping and the kinds of things that we buy from the shops.

Our Drawing Club book is The Giant Jam Sandwich, the children will be developing their writing skills and will begin to compose their own sentences.

In phonics we will be learning 'ar' and 'or' and the tricky word 'you'.

In maths we will be counting and ordering numbers.
