Week 11 - In Every House on Every Street

The Week Ahead

Our topic book will remain the same  as last week and we will continue to focus on building houses, making shelters in Forest School and talking about our own homes.

Our Drawing Club book will be The Tiger Who Came to Tea and we will be having adventures based around the family and the tiger.

In phonics we will be completing the sounds in phase 2 with l and ll and will start the phase 3 sounds with j.

At least three times a week we read with the children in small groups as part of our guided reading. It is exciting to see how they are building in confidence and we are working hard with the children who still need some support with blending.

In Maths we will be learning about size, mass and capacity and in Religious Education we will be thinking about Advent and Mary and Joseph and their journey to Bethlehem.

Christmas crafts have already started as we have been making Christmas tree decorations to sell at the Christmas Fayre and this week will be making advent stockings.

Sunshine Autumn In Every House on Every Street 2

 How the week went

It has been a week with lots of illness and absences. We need to say a special thank you to the staff from Rainbow who took in the remaining Sunshine Children on Thursday when both members of staff went off sick.

I has been a very quiet week we have started some of our Christmas crafts and our advent stockings. We were very reflective about Mary and Josephs journey to Bethlehem and how much they had to trust God. We asked God to help us with things that we find difficult.

We enjoyed our writing based around The Tiger who came to Tea - we are working on writing cvc words independently and choosing our own word to write.
