Week 5 - Lost and Found

The Week Ahead

This week our topic book is Lost and Found. We will be thinking about friends and how we can be a good friend. Watch out for our special certificates going home over the week. 

In phonics we will be introducing m and d. Please make sure you have completed the homework for last week. 

Our Drawing Club book is Dear Zoo and we will be having adventures with the animals and using some of our sounds to attempt to write simple words. 

In Religious Education we will be learning that as God made us it is important that we look after ourselves and others.  

Sunshine Week 5 -Lost and Found

 How The Week Went

 It has been exciting to see the children learning our new sounds and beginning to blend sounds together to read words. A number of children knew all the sounds and have taken home books with words this week. We will continue to work with those who have gaps but the children really need support from you at home too. Please ensure that you have logged into Google Classroom to do the homework.

The highlight of the week was the parents coming into school for the Stay and Read. There was such a buzz in the classroom and the children loved having a chance to read stories with you. Next Thursday (2.50pm) we plan to have a stay and puzzle where we will get out lots of jigsaws to do together.

We have has a chance to open the doors between the two classrooms this week and allowed the children to flow freely across the classrooms and outside area. This has been very successful.
