Year 1C Autumn Term Week 6
Monday 7th - Friday 11th October 2024
Mental Health Awareness: Hello Yellow. We wore an item of clothing in yellow to mark 'Hello Yellow' Day which raises the awareness of positive mental health. We decorated badges and stickers with drawings of things which represent each of us as individuals.
English: The book which we studied this week in Drawing Club was 'Christopher Pumpkin'. We draw a picture of the witch and her castle and then compiled our own sentences about them. After, we made up a new character who would come to the party.
RE: This week, our learning was about the letter which the Pope wrote 'Laudato Si', about the gift of Creation and the importance of taking care of the world which is our home. We chose to make bird feeders to help the wild birds in our Forest School. We found places around Forest School to hang our feeders.
Art: Our theme is 'Spirals' and, in this week's Art lesson, we drew spirals in pencil and then we used watercolours to paint on to our drawings to make colourful spiral patterns.
Computing: This week, we looked at being able to type our name independently using the text key in Paintz.app.
